Just looking
Hey all - buying a new Arapaho and wish to stop my plates / oven grill etc rattling when on the move

Custom made matts are expensive - any ideas / inside tricks what to use?

Can I for example buy large rolls of grip matt?

Tea towels and fabric draining mats are your friend :)

I have a rack like this in a drawer and there is enough space between the plates so they don't rattle.

Driving a works van for years with tools rattling, and copper pipe chattering away for the entire journey I never notice the rattles now, Ann always goes back to sort them 😁

cheap foam pan scourers between the plates and tea towel for everything else.

Many a time I've had to lurch to the back in the motorhome while we're travelling to try to find the source of the last rattle. Have to wait until we're on a straight bit of road though. Always keep extra tea towels, sponges and bits of cardboard ready.

Thanks for the like Richard and Anne. Did we stop and talk to you at Ambleside a couple of months ago?

All the above, plus we use socks (clean ones that is) with the foot cut off as 'sleeves' for cups and glasses. Also use felt pads on the locker doors and wrap velcro ties around the side window blinds in the front (with them open of course). With all measures in place and on European roads we can even talk to each other or listen to the stereo, something that despite all the soundproofing is pretty difficult on the third world roads we have in many places in this country.

Most of the rattling in our charabang comes from Mrs Yoghurtpot, so not sure how to cure that one…………………..Safely!!!! 😂

Have grip mats on the shelves and just put a sheet of paper towel in between the plates and after over 4’000 miles never had a rattle.

We’ve got a rattle (well a squeaky chatter) from somewhere on the fridge/oven tower unit. We call it The Budgie.
We’d really miss it if it wasn’t there

Funny isn’t it ? We spend tens of thousands On a luxury vehicle and stuff it full of bubble wrap :-)

I think you’re trying to solve the impossible. Stop 1 rattle and another one appears.

As before bubble wrap just make bags out of it with tape for pots, pans, lids,
No expense and very effective 😃😃

Sorry to add other noises into the mix here, but consider your remis blinds in the cab too if you're having them. Mine constantly squeaks as I'm driving and it literally drives me insane. I've tried double-sided Velcro and it worked for a while, but it's back now
