Just touched down at home following a great few days at the Stoneleigh Show. Just wanted to say thanks to our Marshals who, once again did a great job. Always the same friendly faces to greet us on arrival. Not many of us would volunteer to sit for days - sunburnt one minute, windswept the next. "Hiya; do you require water?........tap's over there, Elsan point is there, toilets are there, entertainment is there, here's what's on........follow that man there, he'll park you up........"
They must feel like cabin crew reciting the safety message! Then, of course, they pop up seving the bacon butties! Thanks all.
Thanks also to Jim & Sian. They never stop either!
As a footnote, If you like 50's/60's Rock 'n roll, this show's for you. Great bands and at age 84, Wee Willie Harris brought the house down! His voice is still there and his act gave hope to us lesser-aged olds not to roll up life's awning!
Mrs W, (not pictured
) as did all of the ladies who dressed up, looked resplendent in their swirly 50's dresses. I'm worn out after a weekend of jiving and need the week to nurse the aching joints!
The MH Show itself? Smaller than some, bigger than others. Took a while to get around it if you stopped and rummaged. Thought I might buy an electric bike; fancied an awning, came away with a telescopic mop!
Thanks again all.
