Yes indeed. Gives 12v supply only when engine running... used to control various things in moho.

You need to find which wire at the step is the D+ and then trace it back to where it runs from.

There is probably a break in that wire.

Could be a relay sticking🤔

If the starter battery is under the bonnet, as I think it maybe on a 2005 model, you should find a couple of relays with fuses close to it that control the fridge , split charging etc using the D+ signal you could try checking these fuses and the wiring connections there.

Under the bonnet there is a small fuse board. The first thing I would check is the fuse. There is also a fuse for the fridge to be found there. It may of blown or may just be loose.

I think on the 2005 model there is a black cover held on with 2 m6 nuts to the right of centre on top of the engine .With fuses and relays under. Check the relay bases as mine burnt up on the connections underneath. The fridge also stopped working on 12v too. I did away with the relay base and connected the wires direct to the relay after fitting new spade connectors fitted. Not had theproblem since. Dam jinxed it now!

well check relay and fuse still not working and to cold to get under neath so it have to wait thx

Is your van fitted with Sargent electrics, and if so do you have an extra box ) usually under a seat ) with a red LED on it ?
If you have, there is a fuse for the step in that box..
BUT be warned ! If you do have that system the box ( its an EM50 ) from 2005 to 2007 did develop some pretty weird faults
Sargent do a service replacement for about £60

As Jaws has stated....Ours is behind the driver's seat too . When ever the step has been faulty (Twice) ....It's been a change of fuse on the one occasion and an pair of pliers and a squeeze on the terminal inside the box that was at fault. SInce then...Touch wood...all is ok

Kev ;)

The fuses/relays in your photo are the Fiat ones for the van engine etc operation and are not used for the habitation side of things , the Swift fitted fuses and 2 x relays that need to be checked will be somewhere else , If there is a engine cover fitted , they may be under it , possibly fitted to the bulkhead at the rear of the engine bay. Another possible location for the fuses/relays is near the starter battery.
