Anyone know if there are any mats on the market to place on the treads of the MGI Milenco Giant Double StepPart Number: 3773 as our dog is for some reason is struggling to use them.
thanks

I fitted some artificial grass to the electric step of our MH as our dogs found it slippy, it took a while for them to get used to the feel of it but now happily pop in and out without a problem ... fortunately none has so far decided to have a piddle or poo on it! :giggle:

I've just been into the garage and photoed a step we have had for over 15yrs.
The orange top is a doormat cheap and cheerful made of plastic. This one has holes at regular intervals but I've seen them with a solid base.
It is secured with zip ties threaded through and fastened under.
If you buy a 'solid mat, it should be easy to punch holes through to coincide with the holes at each side of each step.

Our dogs wouldn't go near that with their tender little tootsies!

I've walked on it in bare feet and it didn't register. Anyway, dogs don't have receptive nerves in their pads, do they?

I'll let you tell my dogs that ... I've got one who is such a wimp that she limps if she stands on a twig! 😄

They just don't like the feel of it - I used to have a similar mat outside our backdoor at home and they used to jump over or walk round it.

Well, she's only half Yorkshire being a Jack Russell cross ... the wimpy half is Chihuahua! 😄

Our plastic Fiamma step we use on the van has a soft rubber top which was an extra buy, but has lugs which lock into the holes in the step top.
We too need one for getting the dog into the car and were given a generic plastic one from a friend, but the dog's not keen on standing on i do we will just Evostik a cut to size Poundland rubber car mat onto the top of it with maybe a large headed pop rivet in each corner ?

Just one thing to consider if you go down the rubber mat route, being black (normally) they absorb the heat so when it's sunny can get VERY hot - we have a step outside our conservatory which has a rubber top and I stood on it the other day with my bare foot when it was sunny and if I hadn't immediately taken my foot off I'd have 'burnt' it.

If it gets hot it won't be very comfortable for your dog to use, never mind you if you have bare feet.

A rubber door mat cut into two (one for each tread) and held on with cable ties. Did us when we had the caravan. Still in the garage somewhere.
