Can I rely on the Campercontact app as being comprehensive or will I need a Stellplalz book - if so recommendation please.

If you have Search for Sites and Campercontact you will be fairly well covered. You could also download CC Infos as well. You could purchase the German Bordatlas but that will only repeat many of the entries in the former mentioned three, plus a few others.

Camper Contact and Park4night are all you need, if doing a tour of a specific area (say the Mosel) call in at the local tourist information and get the local area map (usually free) they often have them all on and are hanyfor route planning in my experience.(y)

Glad I spotted this post. Downloaded Search For Sites and it looks just right for our trip
this summer Thanks.

If you download Search for Sites how does it work off line please?

We used park4night, camper contact and search for sites with no problems last year.

No you need to be online nearly all the apps work best online, not a problem these days with data being so cheap.

I think it downloads everything to use off line rather than need to be connected to the web. Handy if you do not have much data allowance or there is no signal/wifi available.

or it could download up to the last time you connected but allows you to view the web site content when off-line. Thats how the ACSI site works (I believe)
