Hi there.

We are planning to include a stop near Barcelona during our forthcoming trip (December 2022 - March 2023) and would like to find a secure campsite within approx. 30 minutes bus or train ride of the city. We normally stay off grid but would like the option to leave the van in a secure place while visiting the 'big city'.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

Mike

We have staid at Camping Barcelona a couple of times. V secure to leave the van there for a day in the city. Its a little way out but your pitch fee includes the use of a free shuttle bus straight into the city centre. So dead easy access. It is not open all year, closed from 1.11 until 1.3 I believe, so you would need to go towards the end of your trip. https://www.campingbarcelona.com/barcelona-bus/

We stayed at Camping Barcelona and would also recommend it as a good place to stay to visit the city 👍

Thanks OutThe Office and Jo662. Camping Barcelona looks perfect, but we'll be there in January or February so they'll be closed.

Few sites at calella easy from here by train to barcy and a nice place to visit itself

We've parked in Sant Cugat on the street before now & at the station car park in Valldoreix. 30 mins on the S2 or S5 train into Plaza Catalunya.

Not an overnight stop but we were quite happy to leave the van there during that day, it does help that we used to live in Sant Cugat so we know the area pretty well.

Camping Villanova near Stiges, tram/train into Barcelona

A great thread this, as we are contemplating going to Barcelona in October 2024 to watch the Americas Cup. Nothing planned for sure but its nice to get the lay of the land in advance.
We stayed in a spot in the middle of the city several years ago and it was like a cross between a lorry park and a scrap yard, very intimidating indeed. We were very loath to leave the van but all was well when we got back.

Another one for villa nova (y)
Nice and easy to get into Barcelona (if you've not got a dog)

You'd have to check whats accepted on the train .

Just to update, when we get there there were several buses a day into Barcelona, they probably vary the schedule from time to time but this is the timetable when we were there
