Sitting in Waitrose car park waiting for them to open. Compiled a list last night of bits we had forgotten hence the early start.
It's raining but still warm at 9 degree's. How is your Christmas starting today.

Sat in bed scrolling through here :xrofl: Shopped yesterday in my local Tesco as my ski trip was cancelled for the second year….cannot understand why people still take their whole families shopping. Kids hate it and they just block the aisles. it was heaving. Not to mention the blooming C word:( Daughter just tested positive for the second time, it was Christmas last year too. So 7 day lft tests for the rest of us now. Think I may just stay in bed, it’s safer lol

Going to pick MH up from bodywork repairs and return to storage. Also discovered a fuel pipe leak on way to repairers. So, back to storage until garage re-opens sometime iin the distant future and then finish my extensive prepartions for tomorrow's lunch before maybe a glass or two ...or 3 or 4 .............................................................................

and bathrooms to blitz , life in the fast lane .

Gosh I thought you’d got references to the lyrics from both a Sweet hit and an Eagles hit in one sentence there but the Sweet lyric was “ballroom blitz” and not ‘bathroom blitz’! 🤣

Ian😎

Its a bit sad that most of us have probably moved from the ballroom blitz to bathroom blitz as being more likely

Well that was a pleasant experience, I got into Waitrose when they opened wearing two masks, spent an hour and a half wandering around checking dates on my purchases, having a good look at their wine selection and picking up far too many bits that were not on my listx:-). Now I am back home all packed away and still feeling fresh.:xThumb:
I'm going to have a shave and a quick dip before meeting my lovely lady and a couple of friends in the town for a coffee and a chat or maybe a quick half when Christmas calibrations will officially begin. Merry Christmas.

Did the last-minute shop at Waitrose yesterday. It was heaving. Getting things to take to Duxette's mum to help her prepare the dinner - I keep getting told that it might be her last Christmas. Same warning message every year, must be 12 years in a row by now. xroll:

Why two masks had you been on the sprouts already ( one each end!!)

No but I did get a few more sprouts even though they were not on my list.:xsmile: I find two good quality blue medical masks to be both comfortable and with six layers of protection I feel fairly safe in a close environment with others. I think filtering my coffee through them could be a bit of a task though. :xcool:

Decamped to son’s for Xmas this morning and looking after Grandchildren for the day. Son giving out prescriptions and meds on his last day in his pharmacy before holidays and DiL out giving the last 2 Chemo treatments before Xmas. Margaret has just done all the veg for tomorrow and we’re now waiting for the rain to stop to take the dog for a walk! Merry Xmas to all Funsters!

Started late today ! Had a lie in as Daughter and circus [grandkids ! S-i-L ] left yesterday after 3 day solstice celebrations here that consisted of sufficient food for an army being consumed ; dishwasher on 2 x a day etc- and after they left a mountain of linen and towels to wash [hot tub up for them !]- exhausted !
They kindly took some excess food away that we wont eat .... as expected next wave of guests not now arriving today after Covid exposure so will need to re -shop veg etc on Monday .... sigh
Rolled into M and S to see if they had another reduced Smash cake -got one for £8.00 for kids but alas youngest interpreted Smash as pulverise -so we didnt get to see the tasteful scene under the icing dome .:xangry:- thought another reduced one would be good but who pays £20-00 for a cake ![not me !] Snaffled some reduced veggie snacks that I had bought previously but which disappeared without trace - locusts !
We have a plan to re- arrange Christmas to Monday/Tuesday next week as now just the two of us so now will just laze about and read books/drink gin/ eat things that remain on the plates for more than 2 seconds. Merry Christmas to all xxx

Just back from garage 200 quid lighter,,Two M.O.T. s and a full service on my Panda,,hope that's it for a year,,Happy Christmas to everyone,,,BUSBY.

A bit of a leisurely start at 8.30 for me.

Put the recycle bin out along with some tins of larger for the boys.

Went to the local recycling centre with the brake discs etc off the Daughters friends car I did.
Took the boys at the centre some biscuits.

Collected service parts for my van.

Bought my mate a bottle of Bourbon and dropped that off.

Went to our local Turkish barbers for a trim and a wet shave.

Serviced the van.

Lit the log burner and poured a cider.

That’s me done 😊

Up at 7.10, coffee, fed dogs, went to supermarket as I forgot coleslaw, dips and potato salad. Home, coffee, late morning snack, walked dogs...realised had forgotten something (can't actually remember now 🤣)...back out, home. Made puff pastry and mince meat parcels, moved 1000 piece jigsaw to safety...spaniel 😉... made reindeer dust with son. Sat down here to catch up. Logs piled for a toasty night in front of the log burner. Merry Christmas all.

Alarm dragged me from a decent sleep at ten to seven. Put rubbish out. Still managed to miss the binmen. Chased up the road to give them a drink. Bit tired and grumpy.
Got everything we need from the shops a couple of days ago.
Late morning, we drove down to the coast for a wander. Knee hurts (snapped ACL a couple of months ago) so lagged behind the family a bit.
Home now for baby ribs, sirloin, corn cobs, homemade coleslaw and a decent cru.
Bed by ten, I expect. Clearly, not the party animal I was once was

Beat you to it! I was at our Waitrose when it opened at 7:00, along with about 5 other people. Also getting a few last- minute things. :giggle:

30 mile ride to Bude and back. Wet on the way out, cold on the way back. Better than playing board games though!!
