Beautiful area. Mix of pebble beaches ( Slapton) and sand ( Blackpool sands) Slapton Ley is set back from the sea and is famous for varieties of birds. Although very popular with holidaymakers the villages are still a bit olde worlde, lots of pubs/ restaurants and tea rooms.
You probably know the history of Slapton--- practice area for D Day landings, hundreds of soldiers died and one of the tanks that was in the sea was hauled out in the early 80s (83 or 4 I think) and is in the car park on the front at Slapton.
Enjoy your trip.

We had a sea view pitch on the CCC club site a couple of years ago. Can recommend the pub a short walk away in Slapton village, the Queens Arms I think. Can also recommend the Start Bay Inn at Torcross. Toilet facilities were spotless.

Buses run every hour to Dartmouth along the main road, you catch the bus at the bottom of the lane.

Have been to Slapton and Torcross many times, beautiful area. good bus service into Dartmouth if you want. Whatever you do don't try and take your motorhome through Slapton village it won't go.

North end of Slapton beach has been used by naturists for more than 80 years. (y)

Unfortunately, MHs won't fit in Strete Gate car park, which provides the only sensible access.

However, you can park MH in the car park in the middle of Start Bay, but not overnight.

Be aware parking regulations are rigorously enforced around the South Hams coast.

More than toes wet now!
Road from Kingbridge is "tightish at a few points and some of the villages are 20mph limits. Great if you can time it right and follow the bus through!(y) But watch out for them coming the other way as they tend to ignore the speed limits!(n)
