How many times has this happened to anyone on here.

The driver came storming over and said he would only be able to reverse if someone would stop the traffic for him. I just said no worries, I will do it. So I am walking down the lane with him behind his lorry and he is giving me instructions on how to stop the traffic. "you need to wave your arms, oh and mind you don't sting your legs on those nettles !!!" so I walked into the middle of the road and stopped the traffic within seconds and guided him out. We were both laughing about it though in the end. He's used to it happening I suppose.

Unless the lorry driver could see you when he pulled in it looks like you need get reversing. His way back looks to be onto a road

Sometimes these things just happen , mostly one of the drivers could have predicted it 🤔

My eyes must be going…..where’s the wagons driver? 🤔

Might is right!!! Back up👍🤣🤣🤣

Unless you wanna try shoving it out the way, and that ain’t gonna end well for you😁

I could tell you why he came driving along when he saw us, but I am sworn to secrecy :giggle:

An Indian friend in Haverford West said he knew he wanted to stay forever in the UK when he met a car on a single track lane.
And the other driver smiled, waved and then reversed back to let him pass.
He said in India that would never happen - both men would be honking horns for hours.

How far would the smaller vehicle have to reverse
To the passing place
Bill

Right you lot. Read my post again. The driver had got out of his cab and was walking down the lane with me behind his lorry towards the road :giggle: I don't know why, but he walked down the road with me whilst giving me instructions on how to stop traffic (y)

Like I said he walking down the lane with me towards the road as I offered to stop the traffic. Have I messed up again with my post???

Gina

I would just like to say that did not happen to me when I was dropping off plant machinery at Dunkerswell Airfield, in my 60’ long vehicle……more that twice. 🤦‍♂️

If you’ve been that way, you know those roads aren’t meant for large vehicles. (y)

You would be amazed at how many times I have had to direct a stuck lorry on the bridle path my house is on. Me, I would look up the lane and say to myself no way can I get this truck up there ??!! I have a video I made which I entitled "Eddie Stobart takes the scenic route" showing a lorry driving up the lane then trying to back down. It took me 20 minutes to get him out of it. I sent the video to the head office and the manager rang me and was laughing so much he couldn't speak :giggle: edited to say they did pay for the damage caused immediately.

Because of the location of the airfield I had no choice of route to get there. (y)

Didn’t I read here about someone meeting a lady car driver on a single track lane, they both stopped he went and made a cup of tea in the back !! She sat there crying, when he went to discuss the matter she said she didn’t know how to reverse so he had to reverse her car for her!!!

Must have been a nightmare. My lane is a dead end. Most of the drivers I spoke to said the Sat Nav had sent them up. It only happened for a few months then the lorries stopped coming this way.

Like I said, something happened which made the driver think it was OK for him to keep coming. Not his fault at all. Who can guess what that something was
