Spring into summer in Spain

Well, I'm all researched out for the day. All previous research is likely to be put on the back burner for a future trip and we seem to be thinking of heading, on Monday, towards Avila/Merida/Plasencia/Bejar/Salamanca sort of. We can then access Portugal between Ciudad Rodrigo and Guarda (if we even go to Portugal this time).

Today we had our final Murcian ride this side of the summer. Just a local route with a few tweaks. We parked in the town of Librilla and, as we had just loaded the bikes up to come home and a guy from one of the houses across brought us some lemons and oranges and asked if we needed water. How nice

PREPARING...Counting down to BLAST OFF I'm working against the heat, so where I wash our bikes over a drain will be in the full sun in, too late, it already is...but its only 23 degrees just now, at 0730 hrs....

What are your holiday plans for this year?

This year is about Germany, we already had a 2 weeks trip to Bavaria and Switzerland in April (didn't feel like doing a thread about it).
Next 2 weeks trip is going to be in October, this time the eastern regions
Galicia is always in the bucket list as so many other places and so little time...
Mrs. Peavy has a few trips already planned or in the making (Normandy, more of the french side of Pirineos, Dolomites, and, of course, more of our country) . Lots of inspiration here too.

Dashboard warning light that the garage fixed last week...back on.. but has been for half of the vans life.
Fuse blown on Android Car play head unit.. Linked spare phone to Radio Aux...for now..just for Spotify and Google maps back up for Judith's sextant and compass...
Going to drive to a weather window in the Gredos, this should take 8/10 degrees off these silly temperatures...then plan from there...a long drive indeed from Murcia, but needs must...it was 35°c yesterday...but our apartment is air conditioned throughout...
Glad to be moving in the right direction..onwards and upwards..

The temperature is pleasant now and we're hoping it'll be a bit cooler tomorrow so we can get the bikes out to explore.

Over 800m..so by altitude alone...yes..tomorrow will be 22°c so that's 13°c less than our Murcia location..
It's a wonderful location...some snow can be seen from the last fall..the mountains here rise to 2500m...in winter it's quite severe here...
