Eurotunnel via Tesco for the Spring booked, might head for the French Alps for that one for a spot of climbing and cycling plus pools for the kids.

No Tesco vouchers left for the Summer holidays so going to try Santander to Portsmouth on the way back. Pricey but I suppose it saves driving back and we get to melt in Spain in August as a bonus.

All tips and suggestions very welcome. I am a seasoned traveller to the French Alps with a caravan, the motorhome will be a very different holiday.

Couldn’t believe it was £39 for the dog plus an £40 for the pet friendly cabin.

WE have just had to cancel Spring so Stephanie can have a pacemaker fitted so Brittany Ferries refunded our deposit - OK so it's a credit valid for 2 years but we are thinking of using it on our return from Croatia

As for suggestions head down the East of France toward Agde - then follow the coast towards South of Barcelona then North towards Santander via Zaragosa just stay off the A9 and AP7 to save costs

Hope the pacemaker goes well, my Uncle had one fitted last year and it has been amazing. No more collapses and he doesn’t even know it is there.

Thanks for the suggestions, Croatia is on my list too, need to wait a while for that though, annual leave just isn’t enough.

Never done Spain in a motorhome or caravan so can‘t wait!

It does help to be retired this year we did Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg, Eastern France, Med France, then returned up the Western coast of France from May until September

If you are going in August, stay in the north. The beaches are lovely and you can dive in and out to the Picos de Europa which are beautiful. Do go to the animal park near Santander, you can stay free in the aire and the park is very much enjoyed by all that go in.

You might need to book campsite by beaches.

I can recommend
ACSI Camping la Isla Picos Europe, which is inland at Potes. This is a lovely old town, there are fabulous drives through gorges to and from the coast. The campsite has good views and is well laid out and has a pool.

I would also recommend

At SAN Vicente de la Barquera. This is a lovely coastal town and if you look at the camping website it’s in a fabulous location.

Thanks for the tips, will take a look.
