Speed limits in Germany (over 3.5t)?

Not to hijack the French thread. Having recently been to Germany for the first time in a 4.5t moho I googled the speed limits on the autobahn and got 80kph, so I was in the way of all the trucks that seemed to be going a bit quicker, HOWEVER, my Garmin camper 785, with all the weights and dimensions in, put the limit at 100kph
So which is right?

Apart from when we lost our fifth gear just after leaving the Dusseldorf Salon, in our Ducato 230 based Hymer, (engine screaming it's ar$e off), I've always stuck to 100Kph on the Autobahn, unless signage dictates otherwise. Also, I don't join those long queues of commercial HGVs in the nearside lane which are weight restricted in other lanes. It's a Wohnmobile, Camping Car, or Motorcaravan, as on the V5, not a commercial HGV.

There isnt a limit on the Autobah unless signed otherwise.I think you re confusing it with the 130km/h advisory limit which equates to about 81mph.

That's for cars, Motorhomes it's 130kph under 3.5t & 100kph over 3.5t.
