Again being quite new, sorry if this is old hat.

Someone suggested to me taking out the spare wheel and saving a huge amount of space then carry a puncture repair aerosol?

Is this normal practice?

Thanks

Yes. But the gloopy stuff will not repair a large hole or one in the sidewall.

I acquired a spare wheel but the weight really eats into the payload. I'm in two minds.

Lots of us didn’t have a spare in the first place but have bought one, i for one would not travel without it as the puncture repair stuff is very limited it probably would not work with a blow out and then you are stumped.(y)
There are lots of folk on here with their take on it and I’m sure they’ll be along soon.

I wouldn't be without one but I have payload to spare, some folk just carry a spare tyre with no wheel; a fraction of the weight.

Depends on where you go. We like the wilds of Scotland so wouldn't like to wake up in the middle of nowhere with a flat. We didn't have a spare so I fitted the kit and bought one.....
