We have been on a site near Dénia in Spain for almost 6 weeks with another week to go. In case any Funsters are wondering - weather has been superb, hot and sunny, every day is spent sitting in the sun.

For our €9.70 a night we get the lot!

Paul

We're inland from Denia in the Sierra Espuna national park but the weather has been great, lots of pollen around the last week though so the van has a yellow sheen. Still, a quick wash or two and the sun dries it off ?

We are on a site called Los Llanos (losllanos.net), its about 11km from Denia. Its probably not everyones cup of tea but it has toilets, showers, washing up sinks and swimming pool. The bus to Denia is only €1.50 each way and the stop is at the end of the entrance road.

We like the cafe\bar and small shop selling essentials. As I mentioned we are paying €9.70 a night including electrickery.

Place seems busy so best to book I suppose.

Paul

Mojon Playa, Isla Plana, Murcia

Margaret almost made it into the sea yesterday evening. Only the strength of the undertow stopped her. The geothermal pool onsite was actually too hot!!:p

All due to change this weekend, though. Storm Jorge is apparently coming in to spoil it all. I'm not really surprised, as we're hoping to set off for Spain on Thursday.

WEATHER AVISO ISSUED BY AEMet on 27th Feb

The long stable period, in which we still find ourselves, characterized by practically clear skies and higher temperatures than usual, will come to an end from Saturday, the 29th.

Storm "Jorge", will be located in the area of Ireland, with a cold front that will produce rain and very strong gusts of wind in the northwest area of Spain.

Later, between Sunday 1 and Tuesday 3, Atlantic front systems, associated with new pressure centers, will bring rainfall and strong winds to a good part of the mainland and the Balearic Islands,
On Saturday, the cold front associated with "Jorge" will cross the Peninsula from west to east, bringing widespread rain, mainly during the early morning, in Galicia and, weaker and occasional rain, in the rest of the Atlantic and Cantabrian areas.
Very strong gusts of wind (up to 100 km / h), from the southwest and west, will be limited to Galicia, the Cantabrian area and the high Iberian mountain ranges.
The strong wind will cause rough seas, with waves of 4 to 5 m. The front will also produce a notable decrease in daytime temperatures - to near normal for this time of the year.
Throughout the following days, new Atlantic fronts, with higher moisture content, will affect the mainland and the Balearic Islands.
On Sunday rainfall will affect much of the mainland, although there will be very little probability in the south and Mediterranean areas. On the contrary, the heaviest rains will be in the west and southwest of Galicia. The snow level will be around 1200 m.
Wind gusts from the west will be less strong than Saturday but they will affect more areas: the whole northwestern mainland quadrant, western Pyrenees and the high Iberian mountain ranges.
The height of the waves will be around 5 to 6 m off the coast of Galicia and Cantabria.
The most adverse day will probably be Monday, when a new storm will deepen in the vicinity of the mainland and the Balearic Islands, giving rise, in a generalized way, to
rain, very strong gusts of wind and rough seas.
Given the uncertainty in the storms position and its intensity, it is difficult to discriminate between some areas and others.
In principle, the greater amount of rain will fall in the northern and central half of the mainland, with a snow level of around 1000 meters.
Very strong gusts of wind will affect the entire mainland and the Balearic Islands, which may possibly reach 110 km / h in high areas.
There will be rough seas in all the coastlines, mainly of Galicia, Cantabria, Alboran Sea and Balearic Islands.
It is likely that on Tuesday, the stormy weather of Monday will move away towards Italy. However, there will still be precipitation in the north of the mainland and very strong wind gusts, as well as rough seas in the Mediterranean area.
