Anyone use one. Ours is brilliant 800-100w so 5-6amps will do. Pop veg in - 20 mins later you have delicious soup. grate cheese over the top, cut baguette....have a delicious meal. one max fill will be good for 4 helpings...so we freeze 2 for when we are not on EHU :D

Never heard of one. Doesn't it flavour the tea?

Well that didn't work Amazon have a few

They are widely available probably got ours from Amazon about 2 years ago... it's a Morphy Richrds. I guess for me the advantage is that it is quick and easy...chop the veg and place in kettle with water or a stock cube....choose whether you want smooth or chunky soup switch it on and 20 mins later a beep tells you the soup is ready. We particularly love using it on the continent as the veg are sooooo gorgeous. Never use a recipe just chuck in whatever is most abundant as we shop...but always chop in a potato to thicken. Washing up is very easy and quick too. Just like boiling the kettle:D

We looked at one but couldn't see the advantage over a pan or pressure cooker.

It does the blending as well
Just chuck in your ingredients, seasoning, water or stock.
Press the button & leave it alone, walk the dog, go to the pub etc etc

Mine is an Arkay <!>... bought from a stall at the Lincoln Show a couple of years ago. Probably overpaid being from a show but it has performed brilliantly and is used regularly.
I've done recipes from a book, but mainly & lazily I just use soup mix packs from the supermarket [or even just veg packs]

The only thing that has been less than successful is freezing - perhaps it's the root veg I use - but it never thaws very successfully.

Soup with lumps generally freezes better than pureed soup, don't know why.
