Sony expiration dater card (1 Viewer)

Got a 16 gb data card today how do I free up space as the phone is full.
The wife wants to load fitbit but it's saying not enough space.

If you go into the settings (cogwheel) and go to Data storage, there's an option to use the data card for pictures etc and it should ask you if you want to move existing stuff

You need to put the card in the phone first - obviously, and format it if it suggests it

Been there it says nothing to move.

Depends on the version Android you are using some versions I do not allow apps to be moved to a storeage I card.

You can download a file manager as I did to move files around .but as said one android update wouldn't let youmove files but the new one does. Can't remember which one sorry. Some files can't be moved though.

Android phones with 8GB internal storage are almost unusable, a few people I know have various makes, all are "full" without lots of apps and photos. As others have said there isn't much you can transfer to SD card.

The manual explains it thus -

To transfer media files to the memory card
1 Make sure you have a memory card inserted in your device.
2 From your Homescreen, tap
3 Find and tap Settings > Storage > Transfer data to SD card.
4 Mark the file types you want to transfer to the memory card.
5 Tap Transfer.

To move apps to the memory card
1 From your Homescreen, tap
2 Find and tap Settings > Apps.
3 Select the app that you want to move, then tap MOVE TO SD CARD.
Some apps cannot be moved to the memory card.

It also says to make sure you have the SD card in the right slot as the SIM ones (two of) can look very similar
