I may be in a minority here but I've never rated Calpe, only wild camped for 2 nights and that was enough. Each to their own.

We were there just when they started the ground works thought then it would adversely effect the site. Price has certainly gone up. Street parking ban hasn’t helped either.

Agreed, we had a look at it, rammed in behind concrete walls, not for us.
Some nice MHs in there though.

stayed 6 nights as we had booked 7 but in the end brought forward our next site booking

at the end of the day I said I was a prat for booking it but just thought others might benefit from my experiance

You will enjoy Mar Menor we just left last week if you stop over 3 weeks it drops to 14€ a night with 16amp leccy, try the dinner specials from the restaurant

I stayed there I think it was 4 years ago, although building in progress opposite it was Easter so no noise. We don't normally stay on sites try to avoid them but for a town centre site its not bad. Well laid out good amenities if you want them very clean, close to the beach & old town. It was the only place with space when we were there we did go into some of the Aires to look but they were full far more cramped and quite scruffy by comparison.
I don't get your comment about a car park & packed in, the pitches are clearly marked and you have a choice of standard or a large pitch we had our 7.5m van on a standard pitch.

I will add we normally hate being imprisoned on a site much prefer Aires or wilding but neither of us had a problem there.

Thanks for the heads up

Have just booked Camping Mar Menor, 28 days from 1st March

We have friends in the area, so it'll allow us to have a good catch up after over two years apart.

After a good chill, should then be ready to have six weeks of touring before heading home
