Really makes it clear why we ALL have a responsibility
Try telling it to this lot.Really makes it clear why we ALL have a responsibility
Hopefully everyone will see this & the penny will finally start to drop.
And if you keep yourself to yourself whilst away no difference to being at home? There will be plenty of idiots saying ' so what, I am off on my hard earned holiday, stuff it '
It was not my morning this morning, for keeping our social distance!
we were in a farm shop earlier this morning to pick up a few items mainly veg and a few of their lovely sausages and free range stuff..
anyway to the points:-
There we were trying to keep ourselves to ourselves without going OTT or getting too paranoid.
we were briefly stood outside the shop when i was suddenly aware that there was a heavy grey mist around us we were stood in our own little grey cloud....
I looked around, straight at a guy stood about 3 feet away "Vaping" and blowing his exhaled vapor all over us. Now that is bad enough when there is no risk of a virus, but under current circumstances!!!! he got the evil Eye ?!!! and he retreated quickly. we were effectively breathing in his exhaled vapor.
Then we were collecting a few unpackaged vegetables, when i noticed a young women next too us walking along the baskets of veg picking up loose veg and other items and putting them back in their baskets.
No issue there i hear you say that normal..?
well normally i would not have taken a second glance!! but;;;; in between picking up each item she kept sucking her fingers, literally putting 2 / 3 fingers into here mouth not just touching her lips. Then picking up another item before returning it too its basket and doing the same time after time.?
It was that pronounced that a number of people seemed to be noticing it.
with all the hype and guidance about hygiene and social distancing you would think that we would all be more aware of our surroundings and the people around us.
clearly these 2 individuals have a long way to go to contemplate the very idea of social distancing..
or perhaps i am just getting crotchety as well as getting old.
No difference to supermarkets or any other place you are able to buy from, just go home and sing happy birthday to yourself whilst washing your hands and like normal wash fresh produce before eating or cooking. It was not my morning this morning, for keeping our social distance!

And they have the vote.My pregnant daughter just informed me that she is at clinic for scan, as she is pregnant, another woman in there coughing and spluttering saying that she should be self isolating and that she had to come on the train.
We are doomed.
Phill D - as a true Brit you of course said nothing perhaps just a very discreet tut.
Unfortunately....... TRUE!!
the guy with the vaping was an auto reaction and he got a stern " cumon MATE!" and he put his hand up and walked away.
but the young lady just got away with it . I know i probably should have "politely" pointed it out to her, but how do you tell someone you have concern about their personal hygiene in public!!
perhaps I should have brought it to the attention of the staff.
If our cats can do it ......
I would certainly have told the staff, she may have been deliberately contaminating the food? You never know in these strange times. ?
I dont think it was deliberate; she just seemed preoccupied with herself and her friend. I think it is a personal habit she has and does all the time. she certainly did not stop doing it even while at the till.
...and a very graphic demonstration of how far exhaled breath can spread, and indeed lingers... potentially carrying those Corvid-19 critters... not just coughs'n'sneezes...suddenly aware that there was a heavy grey mist around us we were stood in our own little grey cloud....

Sounds like a dangerous habit then, she needed to be warned of the possible consequences to herself and others.
