1.3 What should I still avoid doing?
It remains the case that you should not:

  • socialise indoors in groups of more than two households (anyone in your support bubble counts as one household) – this includes when dining out or going to the pub
  • socialise outdoors in a group of more than six people from different households; gatherings larger than six should only take place if everyone is from exclusively from two households or support bubbles.

But the prince can have a gathering to watch Wendy ball

So what am I missing here. can we gather in groups greater in number than 6 or not?

You can gather in a group up to 30 I think in England.

From what I can make out thats Only if from a max of two households

Yes it looks like your rules are very unclear. They’d need to be very big families then.

In England it is up to 6 people can meet from multiple households or up to 30 from 2 households. Got to be outdoors.

If my family was that big I'd leave, the ones I have are mental enough

They were going to relax the 30 rule but it didn't happen.

You should only be socialising in groups of up to 2 households (including your support bubble) indoors and outdoors or up to 6 people from different households when outdoors.

More generally, you can continue to meet in larger groups if necessary for work, voluntary or charitable services, education, childcare or training, elite sporting competition or training, to fulfil legal obligations, to provide emergency assistance, or to enable someone to avoid illness, injury or risk of harm.

Agree with you entirely, but the big fly in the ointment, you have looked to find the laws, how many other people are going to search it out.
Ask 100 people how many do you think will have seen it, 10? If you are lucky.
Everyone is just fed up to the teeth being told one thing one day and completely the opposite the next that they are just ignoring all of it.

So do you think the Prince’s gathering was illegal?

What was the reason for the gathering.

At campsites I often see groups of friendly campers from a number of vans sharing meals around a Single table or several tables moved close together. Should fellow campers or campsite owners politely discourage this?

Maybe they would if they knew what the law was.

Told one thing one day and another the next day, do you think that only applies to gatherings.

So do you think the Prince’s gathering was illegal?
No.although iit was linked in many articles it was for charity and voluntary services etc.

"",The Govt. gave in to pressure to "ease" the lockdown. So they freed up millions of people with no bloody idea of how to social distance. Most seem to think that wearing a face covering is the panacea?. The rest apparently don`t even give a toss about that either. I`ve not been to the local yet, but feedback seems to indicate that once the "younger set" get to the second round all idea`s of giving others space evaporates and it becomes the usual group huddle.!"".

That is what "we" are up against. Even Cultural communities who don`t (in theory) use alcohol still have issues with understanding that the spread can only be affected/mitigated, in the main by proper distance keeping. This side of the roll out of a safe and effective vaccine it is the only way. That is My View?.

How do pubs come into this then with at least 20 or thirty folks milling about
Edit just seen the previous post

Like most people I now have no idea what the rules are, I just try to be sensible and hope for the best. Having had covid, I hope we have some immunity, but don't count on it.

Charities at that level are big business not people to people support, just investigate salaries at the top.
Apart from the tax payer supporting a lifestyle.
Just look at the accounts of the Charities Aid Foundation, and it's clients.
As with most financiers wealth is driven from the bottom up. The question of gatherings and being critical seems to me a red herring, divert the gaze whilst I pick your pocket.

My understanding is that everyone is still supposed to be maintaining 1m+ when in the pub or in the pub garden.

Yes but they appear to be in your op.

Get set to lose MORE freedom: Professor Chris Whitty suggests Britons will have to sacrifice meeting friends and family as a trade-off for reopening schools - as Boris Johnson slams the brakes on the easing of lockdown.

People have been bombarded from the start of this Pandemic and, as soon as an announcement is made, the media spend inordinate amounts of time suggesting ways of getting around the rules.
'Can I do this' ' What if this or that.' You get the picture.

Our Leader knows my views on this subject, particularly as it applies to us, the Funsters.

Given clear guidance re. meeting others on a campsite, is hardly rocket science. No, people should not be entering other people's motorhomes. No, people from different households should not be eating around the same table, inside or outside but, two tables, (assuming two households) placed 2 metres apart, OUTSIDE!!! is perfectly acceptable.
Similarly 4 households, sat on the corners of their respective motorhomes parked up forming a 'crossroads' at a rally could also have a chat because the vans are parked 6 mts. apart, Hell, you could even have a couple sat in the middle of that same crossroads.(3 mtrs apart)

Clear guidance, good hygiene, and finally common sense are all that is needed.

I know you threw a line out Jim :reel:

Son No. 2 came out with this. If 35 vans at a campsite were a Pub, it would be legal.
