Snow chains?

Has anyone driven from Spain to France this week via Puigcerda? We will be driving from Spain to Chalabre in France next week and google maps shows that it will take 30 minutes longer if we cross towards Perpignan rather than heading up towards Andorra. We are in our car not the motorhome this time so don’t really want to buy snow chains for the car if we can avoid it as we’ll never use them again. Any guidance on current conditions appreciated!
