I have the Snipe. Found it really good, got mine off eBay from Germany. You press the button, it goes off and does it stuff, tv picture is found. In Snowdonia I had tv, no phone but a brilliant picture.

Snipe 2 for me too - bought from Red Apple Digital as they include the mounting plate. Marquis are fitting it for me next month, but tried it as a 'standalone' and it worked a treat!

Another vote here for Snipe 2. Previously we had a Maxview manual tuning 55cm dish and a right faff it was to get it set up. With Snipe you press two buttons and if you're in coverage that's it sorted. Very compact so you don't have to put it down if it's windy.

Once or twice I've had to switch off and on again to get it tuned in, but that maybe because I've not let the GPS light go solid.

Have the snipe 2 from red apple digital c/w mounting plate, did some research on vucube and technical the snipe 2 offers better performance for similar price
Installed on the roof it is also a lower profile and I could find very few reviews on the vucube

Won't that depend on your satellite tuner? Strictly speaking the Snipe 2 is just the aerial.

Whichever tuner it is, does it have a Favourite list with a Fav button on the remote? Sometimes the list comes pre-populated.

Hi thanks
Yes it do say set a favourite list but if for example I try and set BBC 1,2,3 4, when I move around in Devon Cornwall that can change? And when the list is in front of you, you have to go into every channel to see what it is?
We must be doing something wrong because I then get fed up with it and turn it off !

When you've tried everything and it still doesn't work, try reading the instructions. That's what I do anyway. :)

IHad a Snipe on the last van woked well but did start playing up just before we got rid of the van. Fitted a Snipe 2 (bought from Red Apple) working well and more robust then the Snipe 1. Can buy 3 Snipes for the price of an Oyster so if it packs up upter a few years I'll still be quids in.
As for channels I don't bother with the TV Sat tuner I use a seperate Icecrypt S1600CHD, with this unit once you have tuned into a satellite it retains the setting so you don't need to retune when you change satellites and it is easy to set up favourites.
