Hi everyone. We're looking for a site outside of the Ulez of London but with transport links. We stayed once before, I think Welwyn Garden City, is this outside the zone?

We've used Hertford CCC site before. A reasonable walk to the station with direct links to the centre

The M25 pretty much marks the LEZ, the ULEZ is much more central London

Welwyn is definitely outside both 👍

Please excuse my ignorance, LEZ, ULEZ? I don't know the difference.

It looks like things have changed, all inside M25 looks to be ULEZ ultra low emission zone

But this makes it as clear as mud 🤔🙄

We stay at Abbey Wood Caravan and Motor Home site with links into London on the Elizabeth Line.
Not sure if this meets your requirements.

Fairly sure this is inside the LEZ, our aging (2009) Mercedes based Hymer would cost £100 to get in and another £100 to get out 😳

Wow, ours is a 63 plate, I thought going through Bradford at £9 was bad enough 🤣

Bless you, thanks for looking that up 😊

For a visit into London we used Hertford ccc site this year, Uber into Turkey street overland station, around £6.50, Turkey street into Liverpool st station, used N0 26 bus into Trafalger Square and then reverse for the return, all tickets bought by swiping our bank card at the turnstyles and it cost around £13.50 for all bus and train travel. Be very careful going to the Hertford site,as you come off the M25 or pass under it as we did the turn off towards the site is on the right hand side of the dual carriageway immediately after the roundabout, if you miss the turning then you are into the ULEZ zone, hope this helps you, If you are fit and able, the walk into Turkey st. station will be around 45 mins.

Horsley camping and caravan club site is outside and a 50 minute direct train ride into Waterloo. Loads and loads of folk stay there to visit London. Lovely site with helpful wardens. Just off M25 junction 10.

Lea valley campsite is about a 10 minute bus ride from Chingford main line train station which gets you into central London in about 25 minutes

It is the wrong side of London for you but CAMC site at Alderstead Heath just off the M25 near the M23 to Brighton worked for me. A short Uber ride takes you to Merstham Station with good connections into Central London.

I used it when singing at the Albert Hall last year before driving on the following day to the Newhaven Ferry. It is just outside the ULEZ zone.

I think the lea valley site is in the ULEZ zone but there is another camp site in nearby Theydon Bois which is on the London central line

Theobalds Park CCC is outside the LEZ but be careful as you turn off the M25 you turn right then right again at the traffic lights that mark the start of the LEZ, Walton on Thames CCC and Chertsey are outside and also if you're only staying for a night or two Alexandra Gardens car park in Windsor allows overnight stays but no services, it's a short walk to the train station.

It’s worth looking at sites further out from London. Just because a station is closer to London, it doesn’t mean that it is faster to get in. Some trains are slow, and with many many stops. Others are fast and only stop at big stops, and so can be much faster
