Hi there,
I wonder if you could help me I’m wanting to travel to Dorset and stay but I’m disabled and need a site near to local amenities or a bus service.
Many thanks
Debbie

There is a car park in Lyme Regis which has campervan spaces, with I believe a bus stop outside

Thanks 😊 I’m wanting a site preferably so we can rest - hopefully someone near Dorset might know a good site

We are a big old county so pick a town or attraction and I can advise better

off hand there are a few popular sites that fit the info as presented
Lychet manor (near Poole)
Bagwell (between Bridport and Weymouth)

Norden Farm is a great site and has buses close by to go into (from memory) Poole and Bournemouth.

Bagwell not very suitable for disabled, John.. :shake::shake::shake:

Depending on severity of disablement..... Hoic up the hill out of the site and then NO footpath to bus stop`s.... and busses only every hour or so.. when they are running...

Moreton Camping & Caravan site has a railway station across the road. 2 or 3 stops to Weymouth in one direction and Wool, Wareham, Poole, Bournemouth and onto London in the other

We stayed at a Haven site in Weymouth last year, the bus stop was on site, close to the touring area.

When we were there Mo, the bus came into the site to pick up/drop off

This is true, usual rules don't apply right now

Portesham Dairy Farm is a level site. good facilities, local cafe and pub and bus stop.

A good few years ago, we used to go to Herston Leisure campsite just outside Swanage.
At the end of the site runs the Swanage to Corfe railway line, so you could catch a steam train into Swanage, or head in the opposite direction to Corfe Castle!
Looking at the website now, it seems to have been developed a bit since we last went.

Go a little west to East Devon....Cofton Park....bus about 200 metres from site entrance. Buses to Exeter one way Torquay the next. Bus links with the train stations nearby.
