Motorhoming since 2015......
…..when we arrived at Salisbury C&CC site (fortunately we’d booked), but surprised when the site staff said that they’d been full all summer, and even now that the kids are back at school….. Must be all us retired folk taking advantage of the lack of ‘little perishers’…..! ;)

I have been looking at various CMC sites for half term at the end of October and many appear to be near or fully booked.

The sites we have been on recently are full of season bookings
There are not that many people on the sites
Still advisable to book in advance which is unusual for mid September

About 2 weeks ago we were in Aberdenshire and managed to get onto a CL at Banchory for 2 nights. We tried to grovel for a couple of extra nights, but the Owner said that the first available vacancy was on 29th September and that he had been turning people away since the late April reopening. So we moved along to Burn O Vat Visitor Centre and stayed for £5pn donation!

We are currently touring Scotland. Not the NC500 thankfully and every site is jam packed.
Spent the last week travelling up the east coast just staying one night at a time. Currently at Embo not booked anywhere in advance and not had a problem just turning up. Some sites have been quiet.

Christ, any more signs and they'll need a bigger gate.
And not one says Welcome... hope you enjoy your stay....

Similar to a Itinerant then😅

That just reiterates what I said in another thread. We had to leave the highlands because we couldn’t get on anywhere, and are now on a CL south of Perth. 😮

At Pembrey site country park. NoT camc site. Pretty well full but constant flow. Yes dogs outnumber persons but not allowed on Ski slope, the reason I came to say I been skiing in 2021
⛷️🎿👍

Been like that all year hence the reason we've been booking months in advance.

We're on a CAMC site in Sussex, they have a site full sign, but do have empty pitches, they turned away a traverler last week and kept the gate shut for several days. So even if the site has a sign, you may be able to book on line.

We got back from France last week and the aires were pretty busy despite only seeing two Brit motorhomes in two weeks. I think the staycation is happening everywhere.

Just done 4 nights at Cirencester club site and that was full

Same here in France. Drove past our local Aire last night and it was chocca!

they need a sign to say please read the signs ;)
This makes me laugh, we are on the island of Rab, no signs 😝 after boarding the ferry I was waiting for the safety announcements, 😝 no such thing, no signs to put your rubbish in the bin etc, no announcements to return to your vehicle, but everything happened smoothly, just as it should, must be the common sense people talk about

Carnon Downs near Falmouth has plenty of room, though the roads are busy, maybe a tad quieter after the weekend and others head home.

We were the only people on a CS 5 miles out of Cambridge last night: £15 inc EHU.

Views over the flower beds of the local garden centre, total silence.

Each to his own.

I love the Salisbury site for the stunning views, the lovely walk into the town and amazing walks up to the Iron Age hill fort.

No fighting traffic or looking for somewhere to park the van - everything is on your doorstep.

You are welcome to your fields in the middle of nowhere. 😀

…and absolutely brilliant for the dogs too!
Walk alongside the river Avon into Salisbury for coffee and cake - and we have some as well (if we’re lucky ;) )

We are in Argyll & Bute and will need to service the MH over the weekend.
As you say, most sites saying full, so we rung the C&CC site at Oban at 9am this morning and managed to book a pitch for 1 night tonight (Fri) (2night minimum, but don't tell anybody:whistle:)

We’ve just arrived on a THS and there’s acres of room, dear though @£9 a night :whistle2:
