Site booking ?

We are off to tour Wales this year, from north to south and end up at Hereford, may go into Cotswold for a night or two. I read on here about booking sites, is that really necessary ?

We tour around Scotland, and Europe and have only come across one site at Cambridge that was full.

We wild camp mostly.

It might depend on whether you plan to visit in peak season. There are some popular sites that do get fully booked well in advance. Also watch out for local festivals and events, several places encourage food, music and literary festivals.

If you wild camp mostly you should not have a problem because if you can’t get on a site because it’s full then wild camp that night. If there’s an area you want to be in look for a site and book so you can be sure of a space. Happy travels.
