Got our MH in Aug 2017, not had many trips. The sink doesn’t empty... use a plunger and it helps...anyway we got a mobile grey waste tank like caravans have, so we can leave the waste pipe valve open....It works!!! Water now goes down the plug hole... appreciate your thoughts. Cheers! We’re currently at Beacon Fell site......

The whole point about motorhomes is they do not need external water or waste holders. They already have them inside. The sink will drain in the waste tank, and , as long as the tank is empty it should not matter whether or not its drain is open, It should drain either way.

If waste runs fine with outlet open but not when closed it sounds like a blocked breather pipe to the waste tank leading to a back pressure, do not know the model but worth checking MH manual to see if it shows where the breather pipe is.

If you can get access to the top of the waste tank it may be worth trying emptying the sink with the top removed, if it works fine then it is almost certainly a blocked breather.

Have you put sink plugs in all the other drain points ( bathroom sink, shower tray etc ) ?
Could be air locking

Just what I was going to ask. The air should be able to escape via the other drains as they don’t tend to have traps on motorhomes.

We have a tracker rs and find kitchen sink drainage is fine when level or close to level otherwise can be very slow and has been same from new, I put it down to poor plumbing, bathroom sink and shower are fine.used to go to beacon fell to watch car or motorcycle racing can't remember which!

I think mine has a valve in it to stop smells going up the pipe to the sink without the bung in place. It will not run away until at least and inch or so then the weight seems to open the valve and off it goes.

My Hymer has traps on sink and basin. They both drain reasonably well but the flow is much quicker if over half full, I think the extra head gets the syphon or trap working better.

Blocked breather can do this. Only just found my old MH has a breather and it is totally bunged with broken plastic.... No idea why. Drilled small hole in tank to aid flow for now until I get home.

The water trap is very small check that out for a blockage.

I have a similar problem with my Autotrail and have it booked in next week with local motorhome repairers. Apparently this issue is quite common and they are suggesting taking the waste tank out to assertain the problem. I can let you know how i get on if its any help.

"Mr Muscle", Drain cleaner. Used about 3 time a year. All sorts of "uman" stuff gets lodged in the drains and unlike at home they are NOT 5" dia!.

Susan i replied to your message but have been unable to find if you have recieved it. I have our Moho booked in for two weeks with repairers. We are then going away on the 17th July I'll get back to you after assessing if all is ok. I have had all pipe-work checked all appeared to be clear of any debris / blockage. The waste tank removal is a last option for us and can be quite a big job depending on issues are found. I'll let you know how i get on.

OK. How about 4.330708661417323"? :D The comment was largely that Its not "home" plumbing and tends to block easier. The USA and some European Countries have even smaller btw. But you are right the UK generally uses 110mm, now.
