Need advice have rear seating and thinking of changing to single rear beds don't need large van only 2 of us and hoping part exchange mine and Pay difference say up to £30 thousand Andy suggestions please or do I stay with my van.
Would love automatic

Unlikely, since with single beds it takes a bit of organising.
???

Not sure I follow that response.

Assuming the OP means he's looking for a PVC, when he says 'van'. We have a Rapido V68 with fixed twin beds and a comfortmatic semi-auto gearbox.

And there are plenty of other PVCs with the same/similar layout, such as Globecar and Adria. And shouldn't be too difficult to find one with an auto box.

Look at Hymer Van s520, based on Sprinter 7 speed proper auto. Which is what we have.

Look at the Hymer MLT series for a start
But you need to refine your spec a bit
Total Budget ?
Length ?

We've got a (new to us but two years old) Hymer MLT 570 which is on a Mercedes Sprinter Automatic chassis - and it has single beds. It's fantastic and we love it, although we only got it just before Christmas, so we're still very new to motorhoming! We're down in Spain and the long distances are very easy in it. ?

I agree with your desire for an automatic. I have an Adria Renault automatic which I chose for the layout not the gearbox but it has more than grown on me.
Why not focus on a coach-built? They tend to offer more for the buck than a PVC.

thinking of changing to single rear beds

We have a large fixed double bed in our PVC as we wouldn't be able to sleep without our cuddles before sleep and when we first wake up :giggle:

fixed beds are the future, fixed single beds might indicate no future ..... (children) lol

There's no need to worry as a lot of fixed single bed configurations (at least our Hymer does) come with the infill base and mattress sections to allow you to set it up as a king-size bed! ?

Not too familiar with PVC`s. However my understanding is that most have a transverse double?. If so getting twin beds without losing space might be an issue?. I have an "A" class Rapido (999M) with the "French" bed. On the Sprinter / Auto. chassis. they do/did/ make a Twin bed version of that?. (965M)?.

BTW, and slightly "off Topic". The Highbridge Motorhomes" web site used to have access to many manufacturers "catalogues" going back at least as far as 2006 in some cases.

Hymer MLT range on Mercedes Auto.Great to drive?
Good range of spec and various lengths out there. We have MLT 620 and love it.

Our Globecar Campscout - and there are many other similar layout predominantly continental vans out there - has 2 long fixed singles with infill to make super king size.

We left it in storage for the winter and pick it up in 4 weeks time for our first local test run before heading off to the West Country to have bitz and bobs fitted.

Love our twin beds, no climbing over each other to go to the loo in the night ?

What is all this nonsense about single beds?
Where there is a will .......!
We had no choice with one of my m/h's but I did put some coconut matting between them to save wearing out the carpet.

What’s a raised fridge ? Do you need steps to get a beer ?

Ha ha! That might be a healthy idea.
no, the opposite ... A fridge above a unit so your beer is at eye level and you don’t need to bend down to get it out ... saves the aging knees/back.

Want one ?

What is it with people on here and single beds? Nearly as bad as wearing pyjamas. There's a life to live. ;)

Most of the 2 x Single bed layouts have the option to convert into one large double bed, our layout below.
(Pyjama case is an optional extra)

Yeah, but If you wanted a double bed though, with this arrangement you've lost half a metre of living space. ;)
Not at all!
In our case the bottom of the bed flip's up to give you access to the wardrobes underneath

The only downside is that in double bed layout, you need the ladder to get into bed
(We also have not found a sheet big enough, as the bed is the full width of the vehicle, 2.2m wide!)
