Have just replaced the pump as it stopped pumping over the weekend. I have seen you can get the diaphragm kit to repair them but am wondering if its worth it (£15 delivered). One way or another I want to carry a spare pump (new one cost £55 delivered).

Also does anyone know if it matters which way up (or down) the filter/strainer is in relation to the pipe. On our Carioca it hung below the pipe and my logic tells me this is the way it will best filter the water, but the one I have replaced was above the pipe. (it definately worked as it had dirt in it)

Thanks

Thanks - motor was running but no water being pumped. Have replaced the pump and all ok now. Will probably buy a spare one to carry for next trip over the water.
