Show us the Free Aires

That's really helpful information, thank you.
Currently 3,838 of them on S4S. Which is about 7 times the amount of CCPs available. Should you use P4N I would have a guess at about 10,000 parking overnight places in France for free, but they need filtering by viewing.
As DBK said, its finding the decent ones, and I doubt anyone on here wants to show off bad ones.

The number drops quite significantly when you only want ones over 7/10 on their scoring system

There are many discussions about free aires in France so lets see some that you've visited. Please tell us where they are.

This is St Loup sur Thouet, there's a small town with a bar, a couple of restaurants and a small Vival shop. The aire has an outdoor launderette too.
What a brilliant thread.
I've bookmarked it.
If ever a thread required bookmarking, this is it
:)

The trouble with looking over a certain scoring you can miss a few good ones that haven't been rated, I've also seen quite a few raving reviews how good a place is and the posters have for some reason only given one star, especially with P4N.

Some peoples scoring system is absolutely beyond me.
Some of the reasons given for dropping points is a joke. "Water turned off in winter" "Only payable by Credit card" "Cold at the top of the mountain" "Festplatz taken over by Circus" etc

I'm going to take photos from here on and post them. Finding them in my photo app and knowing where they are is proving to be too time consuming whilst we're on the road 🤔😂

I will check out the map though suavecarve

We did a climb up into the mountains from the lakes, there was one point where we had to traverse a scree shoot via ferrata that had been partially taken out by a recent rock fall. We decided to have lunch and contemplate turning back when another group of walkers turned up, they all took a shot of something in shot glasses that there guide handed out, crossed themselves and went for it, so not to be out done (and it was a long way back the way we came) we followed, twitchy bum time but we survived to tell the tale 😁

Just a car park but loads of space. Short walk in to town. Great stop before/after crossing to Susa, Italy.

We crossed into Italy via Mont Cenis in the morning had coffee and pizza then went back into France for the evening. We ended up here as there was something up with the Aire at Montgenevre, can't remember what though!
