Should I buy one of these multimeters

If I was buying a multi meter now (mine is over 30 years old), I would buy a basic digital volt meter and a clamp AC/DC clamp ammeter.

This is quite popular here :-

In fact I bought this one as my multi meter can do amps, but I find a clamp meter is better suited to MH work.

The Technical Data Sheet produced by the manufacturer says it does measure DC Amps. The blurb on the CPC website misses it out from the list of measurements. Careless but typical.

I ordered this one from Amazon, I haven't checked it all out yet but it looks fine so far. It even does temperature, when I wanted a multimeter for work that did temperature and capacitance, over 20 years ago I paid several hundred pound for it. The one I've just bought does all of that and more.

Have you had a chance to look at it some more as I will probably order one of these too….😎

I’ll take a chance and order one, if it’s no good then at least I can blame someone else…😉😆🤣😎
I have had a little play, it does DC amps through the clamp, although I can't get it to zero fully, it has a scale to 0.001 of an amp and is showing 0.01 amp however it may just be me not using it correctly yet, I need to have another look an the instructions. It shows live 240v without touching any wire and it does ohms. I haven't tried 240v amps using the clamp as I don't have any exposed wiring to try it on. I will test it again later. If I was still working and needed something professionally, I would send it back, but for the odd bit of DIY I am going to keep it.
