Click on the smiley face and all the imogi`s come up and the "Thank You" ones are half way down the list... :bear: Just below the "Welcome" ones... (y)

Globecar Campscout Revolution.
Couple of small things could be better, fridge is manual power selection and hob has no auto piezzo ignition. Other than that it suits us as its very big has lots of storage and drives well (after fitting air suspension)

We have an IH630RD Ushaped lounge so nice for lounging in during the evenings or if the weather isn’t very good. The bed is very easy to put up but I am very conscious of your COPD so I am not sure if you would agree. I know Judy is a much younger woman so could always do it of course.

You are welcome to come and have a look once you move, might even give you both a cup of tea and a biscuit.

Another thought is the Norden Farm event that Wombles recommended and arranged a discount. They have a PVC, I think it’s a Globestar/car and I expect there will other PVCs with us. You could drive over and have a nose around. It’s from 10-14th May. I’m not sure when you hope to move.

Thanks Carolyn... :hugs:

If we are sorted will take you up on that...

We ship out of here to our bolt hole this Wed or Thurs..... and go home at the end of the month...

There are two sorts of PVC, ones where you make the bed up every night and ones where you don't need to. Ours is one of the former as this gives us the most living space but I can see the attraction of the latter. :)

No we had a Possl Roadcruiser for 4 years and loved it, like all PVCs the main downside is internal space. That then gives it one of the upsides as a lot easier to use and get around in, we originally changed to it when our daughter Sophie went off to uni. Lorraine wanted to visit her and as I was still working shifts wouldn’t be off every weekend and she wasn’t confident driving the 7.5m coachbuilt on her own, it turned out ideal for this but it also turned out to be a lot better than we thought it would be.
We wouldn’t have one without fixed beds and a garage but if I was worried about internal space I’d go for 2 bench rear lounge, loads of lounging area and two single beds without to much hassle.

Converted ambulance, everything we need where we want it, either leave the bed down or take it up, front lounge if it's down rear lounge if it's up, flushing toilet, shower, three ring hob with grill and oven, compressor fridge, solar, diesel heater, hot water, and now even a macerator pump to empty grey water without having to open taps or bending down, gasit system.
Just nothing else we need.

With the benefit of hindsight, my regrets are not adding 2 more factory fit optional extras to the Order with Rapido.

1. Reversing camera (though I did add reversing sensors which have saved a knock or two)

2. Underfloor electric heating. When on EHU this would be handy.

Options that I am pleased with:

The Comfortmatic and 150 bhp upgrade are worth the extra money. I'm also glad I have the diesel Truma option so I don't need to think about how much is left in the gas bottle. Another good choice is the silver metallic paint which doesn't show the dirt. As are the half leather seats; they show no signs of wear and tear in the usual places. The Van Pack is great value (was £250) because it included the passenger airbag, cab AC, cruise control, stereo, and painted front bumper.

The only dealer-fit option is the Fiamma awning.

Options I did not order and don't miss:

The 16" Fiat alloy wheels would be nicer to look at than the standard 15" steel wheels and branded hubcaps, but a cost too far for me. Likewise not bothered about leather steering wheel and gearknob, or automatic cab aircon. The set of removable carpets - didn't bother. I put my own rugs down. No oven.

This is a good thread. I will be looking to buy a PVC soon. I think I know what I want, including options, but could be influenced by real life experience.

I would buy a new van or a van no more than a few years old. Our current thinking is a van with the rear lounge. Choices so far would appear to be the WildAx Aurora Leisure XL, the Swift Select 184 or the Autotrail V Line SE.
I’m sure the ideas on this thread will be considered as we close in on a van.

I see your avatar is of Weymouth beach, obviously where your heart is and not surprised, had many a happy family holiday back in the 'good' old days.

PVC's Way to go Mo (y)

MY RV is sold

I've owned most every type of van there is, from 36ft RVs to sub 6m A class Germans with lots of British vans in between.

Family constraints have dictated I've never owned the van I've always wanted. A small PVC. Much nearer to camping and really suited to our love of touring and exploring in both the city and countryside.

Siân always said as soon as it just 'me and her'. (ie no kids) touring I could have my wish. Hopefully get it in a couple of weeks after I get Eddie to swap out some of the good bits from the RV. :D

Hi Mo,
I was looking to change a short while ago, my thought was an Autosleeper Fairford plus , fixed bed at the back with large storage under, 3 burner cooker plus oven , dinette , roll out side and rear , it would suit us quite well , apart from we like more space , so keeping our 7.5 T-Line . but I expect eventually we will downsize.

here is your optimum solution.(y)

Get Daisy to be pulling off her excellent job of wrapping the van, even though you were getting in the road, and you get started with this.

Hopefully get one with single made up bed`s and room for her ladyship...

If you read this eddievanbitz what you got... Or could recommend...?
