My seitz window sliding mechanism has broken. It's the version where the plastic slider goes across the bottom and up the sides of the window. It's broken where it goes round the corner, presumably due to fatigue. Anyone know how to take this out to repair it? There is a part of the channel retaining it which opens out - see picture. Is this where it is threaded in and out?

Thanks in advance
Paddy

Yes the band slide out of opens but you have to remove the latch parts first, I did this by pinching them with carpenters pincher as close to frame as possible, there have a barb that fits into frame.
You could try these for the strip kit ( this is an example)

Or
Brownhills eBay site ( dearer than above)
( Brownhills eBay will also sell you the plain strip and you cut your own cutouts, I’ve done this because I couldn’t get my old style band with single latches)
Or
I think somebody on here cut their own strip but then you have to be careful how you remove the latches because the barbs can break off.
