We have one of these security handles that locks across the hab door that was fitted new

However, over time the grey plasticy bit you hold has deteriorated and become all 'wrinkled/withered' as shown here

Has anybody else had the same and has someone had a brilliant idea re some way of replacing this bit without replacing the whole unit?

Something similar to handlebar tape I would suggest , presuming the loop part doesn’t easily come off, then buy a new sleeve 👍

Take apart and slide on bike handle bar grips?

Or use bike handle bar tape?

Possibly just self amalgamating tape.

Pipe lagging wrapped in tape?

Thanks for the suggestions.

I think that perhaps wrapping in tape will look a bit "tacky" but sliding on handle bar grips will be good if it comes apart.

Does it?

Not sure, but the grip on ours, looks and feels like Central Heating Pipe wrap?. Split it, wrap it around and glue the edges back?.

We wrapped ours with the blue sticky bandage tape that you can get from the pound shops.

Cheap, colourful and sticks to itself as you wrap it round
