If a 2nd battery is installed under a bunk and is held in place by clamps, and a vent tube goes to the outside. Does it have to go in a plastic box that they sell or just boxed over with ply to protect the cables etc ?

Doesn’t HAVE to be boxed at all. But you will want to know it is securely fixed in place, and that something can not fall on to the terminals shorting the battery potentially causing fire. You will also need a vent tube to outside if the battery requires it.

Thanks, I did not want to say the that it didn’t need a plastic box if I was wrong. Cheers
