Campervan is a Burstner Eliseo C641.
Prior to having the second leisure battery fitted this week, whenever the van was on EHU the inbuilt display would show 13.5 v. This would drop to the 12.3 v level when not on EHU. All perfectly as expected.
But now with the second leisure battery fitted, with the EHU on, the panel only shows 12.3 v and not 13.5 v. Please see the picture. (That said, with the engine running the 13.5 v lights up showing it is charging as expected).
I was bit puzzled by this so I proceeded to use a meter to check the voltage across a cigarette lighter in the van which should be drawing from both leisure batteries and got the following readings.
No EHU = 12.7 v (as expected)
EHU 12.7 v (exactly the same - but I would have thought it would have shown higher as the EHU is supplying power)
Engine running 14.2 v (as expected and obviously receiving power)
Hence an accurate meter reading across the 12v cigarette outlet supports the indicative panel readings
So - my initial thoughts are that the EHU may not be charging the leisure batteries.
Any thoughts?
