Autotrail Imala 625 high
Exp
2010
Hello I want to remove the passenger chair in my autotrail imala 625 an put a double seat in so that three of us can tavel together. The cab is a fiat ducato. Has anyone converted the front seat in a factory built motorhome from a single to a double?

Should be very easy as the fixings are the same for a single as they are for a double. Should be loads on eBay as the doubles are often taken out and replaced with a single. Had a new double one in my garage for years and could not give it away.
The double should come with a seatbelt as well for the middle seat.

As said, the physical change should be possible but you'll also need to consider the V5 if it shows as number of seats as 2.

Yes that will need to be done, I just changed the travel seat number from 3 to 4 and sent it off, it came back showing 4 travel seats.
Insurance company would also need notifying.

Do you have a passenger side air bag? The double and single seat versions might be different.

Would it not need type-testing and certifying bea qualified person? Otherthreads have said that it’s very difficult to add travel seats in the rear, so not sure why this would be different?

I believe he wants to change the cab passenger seat to a double, rather like in an original van cab. Maybe the mountings for the double are already there.

It’s different because most cabs come with a double seat which is then replaced with a single seat and they share the same fixings to the floor. Also the double seat comes with the middle seat seatbelt already fitted.
The best way is to change the seat then take it for an MOT where the seat belts will be tested, change the V5 to the correct number of travel seats and tell your insurance company.

A lot of people do this to VW T5s and you can buy kits to make the seat still swivel. You may find somebody does this for Fiats if you still want it to swivel.
