Please take a look at Cameron McNish’s utube on the subject and try and support him he has a great following in Scotland and has the ears of the Tourist, politicians and Tv people.
He could be a very good advocate for keeping the car parks open after the end of August.

He is absolutely right, a very good presentation.

We were hoping to go up to Clatteringshaws next month but that will probably be cancelled now 😤

So so right, if we Motorhome/ camper van and campers who enjoy the life , pick waste left by the ignorant few, we will make a difference and help the local environment and local people to accept that not Motorhome people are the same. So please if we all see litter dumped, pick up and drop next waste bin.

No, please don’t recommend that. By all means pick up litter but dispose of it by taking it home or putting it IN a bin. Leaving it next to a full bin is not that helpful.

Never said full bin , please read post. We all have a responsibility
Did you mean to write “drop in the next waste bin”? That’s not quite what you wrote! Agree on responsibility.

7 Stanes for the night, just a couple of vans but off the beaten track. Well done Scotland, a brilliant idea👍👍.

Just been reading on FB that Clatteringshaws are thinking about stopping it due to too much waste being left in the car park.

Oh no that’s the one I’d want to do ... perfect for a wee night away

Just came back from our first outing to Dumfries and Galloway in new MH and visited Clatteringshaws to stop for lunch. Although fairly busy not a sign of any litter. Went on to Glentrool visitor centre and discovered that they are not part of the stay the night initiative. However, 10 minutes from there into Galloway forest and we found a lovely spot off road and stayed the night there. Quiet and peaceful. Driving on next day noticed there are loads of possible overnight stops in the forest.
