A class Burstner 800
Exp
Since 2000
As some may know I have finally moved off Autotrail and bought a new to me Burstner.
It's fitted with the EBL 220-4 and LT510 control panel.. Somewhere I think I must have a solar regulator as well, going to look for that in a min..

There are instruction manuals that came with th van BUT in German and French.

Anyone know links to download / obtain English versions of the manuals (y)

My next question will be on the solar, once i find what regulator is fitted. Dealer told me looks like a 100w panel on roof and will be going direct via Elektroblock, that should give 80% to leisure and 20% to engine battery ???

I think the Udo supplies many EBL in English. He did mine and almost immediate return.

I was trying to use the website via my phone, easier now I am on the PC.
The first part is all in German but now I have figured it out (sort of).. (y)

Have also located the Solar regulator LR1218.. So will go look that up..

BONUS... Just found another panel up on the roof... Got 2 not one :D

I changed our LR1218 regulator for a Votronic duo 250 Mppt regulator and I’m very pleased with it, seems a lot better than the LR1218 which is PWM type.

Pretty sure Burstner have done away with the LR1218 controllers now, our new Burstner was fitted with a third party MPPT controller but I swapped it for my Victron controller and Bluetooth dongle so I could monitor the solar output via the app on my phone.

I see the hand over was comprehensive Steve

Enjoy the discovering, I still am 6 years in :)(y)

We have the EBL 101 and it's not as rigid as 80:20 I don't think but does prioritise hab over cab battery. With 200W solar your should have both charged even in winter when not being used. I have 100W and tend to connect to EHU on the drive a few times through the winter.

I think it's the LR1218 that dictates the battery charging percentages.

I am getting my head around it all now. (y)
I don't think Burstner actually fitted the panels or regulator. Looks to be done after factory.
As suggested I will sit with it and see how we go.

Don't know if you are still after paperwork/manuals, but I have these...

Our EBL 99 is also in German. These are the two pages on the EBL 99 from the Burstner manual supplied with the van

Let me know if you want images of the English section of the LR 1218 manual or better images of the EBL99.

The lr1218 works with a simple plug and play lead into your ebl controller.
They brought out an mppt unit lr???? Which gives a better charge rate and is connected by the same 3 pin wire.
If it's working I would leave it as is the ebl is sorting it all out.
If u change to a 3rd party mppt controller u are going to have to piggyback it onto the output of the ebl to the batteries.

There is a cable for the Votronic MPPT which plugs into the same socket on the Electroblock.

Thanks guys. On top of it now and all making sense. Been to long with Autotrails and the Sargent system but after feedback from funsters and a bit of reading up I am a lot more familiar..
