Hi all... suggestions for the best motorhome sat nav please....😀

Use the search facility, there are dozens (and dozens) of opinions.

I'll start.... Garmin! simply because I have one, and know how to use it (y)

As said there are loads to choose from and everyone will have their preference (or otherwise!) but for a motorhome you'd be looking for one into which you can put the vehicle dimentions rather than a standard car type. Look at truck ones.👍

Garmin for me too, as it also connects to my wireless reversing camera (Garmin BC40). (y)

What satnav(s) have you used before? If you are happy with it stick with the same make.

Bigger screens usually mean louder volume available, bearing in mind cab noise levels can be quite high.

Personally I am very satisfied with the Garmin Camper 760 LMT-D. This has been superseded by more recent models but I don't feel the need to upgrade, as long as "lifetime" free map updates are available to download.

Anyone tried an xgody??
Yup - plenty of fans of the various incarnations.
Positives - cheap, good navigation & configurable
Negatives - not very loud and screen is not that bright

Tomtom 625 truck and camper. Nice big screen, lifetime maps, speed cameras and traffic. Has worked without fault

My backup is a 7inch chinese jobbie with truck maps. Works fine but a bit slow and the screen is not that good in bright light

In the car I use my phone and google maps

I have Copilot (standard, not truck version) on a 10 inch samsung tablet, which works for me. I also have a phone with a non-satnav moving map display, usually Maps.me. This is useful on bendy roads so I can see how sharp the next bend is, without having to disturb the satnav settings.

The Garmin Nuvi for me, I like the ease of use, search for a destination on your phone and then simply send it straight to the Garmin. It has a large, clear screen

Another fan of the 7" Chinese Truck Sat Navs here, though I have progressed to a 9" model with a capacitive screen, which is much better.
With the latest 2020 Truck maps on, it identified a new bridge, which wasn't on a fellow Funster's updated Garmin. 😉

If it is a 7" screen you are after, the Xgody 886 is the one, or the Xgody X4 for the 9" screen, both of which are capacitive.

Cheers,

Jock. 🙂

Great bit of kit, first time out got us down to Bennidorm, no probs, but it did take a time to get rid of dam alarm noise of approaching speed controls, I should have read the book, but all in all a good inexpensive bit of kit.

THE OTHER HALF WITH A DECENT MAP.

Oops didn't mean to shout, but they wouldn't give any batteries for the hearing aids today without the card. (which I'd forgot but thought would get some as passing) last 6 months or so they threw them through the window, saying something followed by off.

Xzent.....that’s what came with our van and it appears to be very good. Not tried it with anything difficult yet though. (y)

hi just got a black fri deal from tomtom the camper 6inch screen for 279 ist it worth the money??

Hi gib1772

Works for me and downloaded the latstest map version that came out today. The units include the ability to download 4 Camper specific maps including N America. Europe and Oceania and what is not stated in their adverts it also includes the ability to download any of their World Wide Maps for Cars. The unit can be set to create routes for Cars, Cars and Caravans and Campers with the ability to input dimension and weight details except if it is set for a Car. There are also some Caravan and Camper Specific POI files on the unit including Campercontact.
