Sargent EC155

Have a relatively new motorhome fitted with the Sargent EC155 power system. I'm new to this, but it looks like this unit doesn't have a particular good charging system - low powered and not smart. I guess you find this sort of thing after you've bought your first MH!!! Is it possible to upgrade to a more advanced Sargent sensibly i.e. without a complete rewire, or is that kind of upgrade completely impractical.
