Thanks to someone who posted about this sale ( I failed to find the post again).
I have lived in the area a long time and had not found much in the way of motorhome maintenance and parts available until now.
I was very surprised to see the wide selection of parts available on display, many bought from 'Charles and Son' when they folded. Sale prices were quite good and there was a selection of internal and external screen covers of average quality but otherwise they had much more on display than I expected.
They also service motorhomes and fit components as required.
The company have been here many years I was told.

Back a few years I used to buy a "few" bits from Charles and sons (Poole) I didn't know they had folded . It was an aladins cave .
How times change ? And thanks for the info (y)

Charles and Son had to move when the estate they were on in their old building was redeveloped and it now sports a slick new Audi garage. They moved to a pokey premises in a new industrial unit about a mile away but you couldn't wander into the Aladdin's cave any longer and "impulse buy" like I used to! They were a lovely firm to deal with and did an excellent repair on a vile Swift Sundance I had at the time and charged me trade +10% on the exorbitant spare door and their fitting charge. I'm sorry hear of their demise; I hope it was not too painful for them!

Used to always go with an empty van ,and always had a few more bargains than originally planned:D

I could be premature re Charles & Son looking at Google but I was led to believe that their stock had been bought at auction and there was a lot of it with their labels still attached, so if I have been premature re their demise, please forgive me.
As said above, the last time I visited them, it was not entirely successful. Previous to that when I was building my own motorhome, they had been a gold mine of parts although staff even then were not bursting to be helpful.
