Sainsburys Shopping App

Anyone using this successfully?

Mrs Ingwe has the latest app on her iPhone 13 and we’ve tried several times to use this. She scans the barcode in the store, and starts shopping as it’s supposed to. We get as far as the fruit and veg section (with usually a dozen items weighted and lanel printed scanned in) and then suddenly the app freezes.

We’ve tried logging in again hoping the basket has been saved but this hasn’t worked. We raised it with the customers service who basically shrug their shoulders and say that the stores have no involvement with the app but offer to pass on our experience.

It really puts me off shopping in their store. It’s supposed to save you time and we aim to simplify the shopping experience using the app to sort out the shopping as we shop by using separate bags in the trolley. Have tried deleting and reinstalling the app several time with no success.

Just use their bar code scanners in store instead of the app.

They don’t have those scanners like they do in Waitrose. At least not in our Sainsburys!

Maybe. It’s the one at Monkgate in York. It used to be York’s largest Sainsburys until they built the one at Monks Cross. But we dislike the latter estate. Huge, soulless, windswept.

I don’t generally shop at Sainsburys, but have had no problem using their Smart Shop app on iPhone.

iPhone 11 here and no issues but do tend to use the hand scanner

I've not had any problems using my iPhone....wonder if you could delete your app and reinstall to see if that can free up the issue? Oops, just read that you have already done that.

Our Sainsburys isnt very big and it has those hand held thingies. People seem to use them OK.

Delete app and download again

Thanks for all the replies. we’ve deleted and reloaded the app several times. Guess we’ll just have to manage the old way until they do handheld scanners.
