Does anyone have any ideas on a safety gate for inbetween the seats om my motorhome to stop dog getting into cab area?
Thank You.

If properly secured your dog wont be able to come into the front, hovever one of those barriers to go between the seats on a car might work.

By law, dogs have to be restrained when travelling.

We had the dealer fit a D-ring. The dog is connected using a harness. She settles in the area behind the passenger seat.

But you might be talking about just keeping the dog out when on site? Maybe a cargo net? Amazon product ASIN B073S35119

Strictly, yes you're right. but the Highway Code requires dogs (and other animals) to be ‘suitably restrained so they cannot distract you while you are driving or injure you, or themselves, if you stop quickly’ (rule 57).

While breaking the Highway Code is not an offence in itself, allowing a dog to distract you could be taken into account in the event of an accident.

Bear in mind that in a crash, an unsecured dog will be thrown forward with significant force. This could result in your pet being injured or worse.

You can be hit with a £5,000 fine for driving with a dog in your car.

Rule 57 of the Highway Code states: “When in a vehicle make sure dogs or other animals are suitably restrained so they cannot distract you while you are driving or injure you, or themselves if you stop quickly. A seat belt harness, pet carrier, dog cage or dog guard are ways of safely restraining animals in cars.”

Being in breach of this advice can see drivers facing on the spot fines of up to £1,000, a maximum fine of £5,000, nine points on their license and even a driving ban and compulsory retest.

That links not working. And again, it's not the law that the dog must be restrained, that's all Im saying. Plus I guarantee that there wont be a fine on record anywhere specifically for an unrestrained dog.

Completely agree, but not law.

It may not be the law (but I thought that I read that the NEW HC was) but do you really want your, or your passengers, neck broken and your, sometime, very heavy pet badly injured as they fly past your restrained bodies in the event of an accident?

Your vehicle may stop suddenly but anything loose is still projected through space at 70mph, as I found out after having a head-on collision when the other driver decided that he wanted my side of the road??

It may not be law, but you know it makes sense!

Lidl and Aldi sometimes do child gates which you may be able to adapt. You can obviously buy them elsewhere but I seem to recall that these two sold them cheaply and they were light in weight.
My only criticism of a gate is that it may get in the way once you've arrived, or if you need to nip into the back.
I made a false wooden floor to cover the top of the steps down to the door and although it did the job for stopping baby crawling and falling down the steps, it was a pain in the arse for storing when not in use.

Thought it was the next scandal emerging from the thread title 🙄😊

All Im stating is it is not the law as many keep stating that it is. I'm not discussing what you see as sense and others may not.

Im not talking about how I restrain or dont my 3 border collies.
