Anyone done this ?
Any horror stories ? Monkeys removing various parts of the motorhome ? 😂 or maybe bypass the monkey enclosure?

We are going to Longleat next month and I would never take the van into the monkey enclosure - too many things for them to pull off. Hoping that the Safari bus will be running after the 17th, or maybe miss out the monkeys

Took our previous MH through the Monkeys @Longleat. They pulled the beading out of the main roof/body seal and lost the Elddiss badge off the rear.

Would not do it again as I felt we got off light in comparison to some of the cars.

Longleat have a parking area where you can go through the Monkeys in a bus.

I'd recommend you do that.

The monkeys at Longleat stole the rubber inserts from my roof rack.
Little :swear2: The car behind loved it. A keeper saved one insert but still avoidable with hindsight.

It was a Thule roof rack, so the inserts are what you fit to the channels when not using with bike racks, etc.
With their fingers, claws? flexi grip they’ll get anything not bolted down.

I’d say a motorhome is too risky.
If the locker doors are super flush they’ll be pulling on that.
Obviously wipers and aerials are fair game.
Oh! You got a tv aerial? They’ll like that.

If you do go, try go late so that dusk is due as you drive around the lions tigers and wolves.
Fantastic for animal prowling. Shame it gets harder to see.

edit: the bypass!! Yes, that would help a lot. I thought my car was safe until the monkeys stole my trim. Top info Spawn_e_git
I forgot that was an option

Now come off it all you spoil sports, tell Swifter everything will be OK, the van, after all his hard work will get through unscathed:devil:. The little devils can test his underfloor craftsmanship. If suddenly he's got ABU sitting next to him he will know a second fix will be due

I had my car attacked by the monkeys at West Midland Safari park many years ago but there aren't any monkeys there now.

I cant see any other problem at that park, if motorhomes are allowed.
Hahaha, that'll teach the little perishes. How did you do it Janine?

You'll have no problems with monkeys if you mount one of these temporarily on the roof. :)

We got escorted out off the safari trail half way through at West Midlands in our mh apparently the dogs might have got the lions a bit excited if they caught thier scent or spotted them !
Bus through at longleat is good.

We went to West Midlands Safari Park in MH a couple of years ago. We booked two places on the safari bus and just parked the MH in the parking spaces. No risk to the MH and the safari bus could go places that the visitors could not, we were even able to feed giraffes out of the bus window. You have to book the bus in advance, but I believe that it is now running under the present restrictions.

YES...

Was in our local news....

Some bloke in a motorhome had his new Lithium battery stolen by 3 armed chimps.....

(y)
Did they use gas on him? I heard they were using gas and stole Rolexes, large amounts of cash carried in case you lose your bank cards abroad and any expensive jewellery you had in the van because you didn't want to leave it at home while you were away. Some chap was on the forum earlier who knew someone who lived in another country who had been gassed while visiting another country I think. Was it the monkeys? If he was in Gibraltar they could be linked maybe?? 😄🐒🐒😴

As a kid I remember a monkey leaving a large message on the roof of a car in front of us. Everyone laughing and waving as he drove out.
On a separate occasion about 20 years due to a distressed and very hungry new born we had to pull to one side in the monkey enclosure get out and swap seats so that she could be breast fed. We decided taking our chances with the monkeys was better than a screaming baby.

Suffered a lot of damage to a Land Rover discovery at Knowsley safari park. Was funny though the grandkids loved it. But never in a motorhome

Lion county safari park is best for this in Florida park the rv up in car park or on site next door leave passport and 10 dollars at reception and get keys to a car for 3 hours to drive around the park return keys and get passport and money back . Perfection any bits missing belong to them.

'Mr Keeper, I can't see any monkies, where are they?'
Keeper: 'They're in the den, making love'
Me: 'Would they come out for a banana?'
Keeper: 'Would you?' :ROFLMAO:

Safari Park in a motorhome ?

"Crikey", I thought," it would never fit in my MH"- and then I read the posting. Silly me!

I'd sooner park on a sandy beach with the tide coming in rather than take my MH into a monkey park. At least I know what the tide will be doing!
