I hope that I haven't duplicated my woes on the same site , if so apologies.
I have a 2001 S650 and one of the brackets holding the drop down bed has snapped.
It's an aluminium bar about 46 cm long 4 cm wide and 1 .5 cm deep ( should have been made in steel )
It's not the gas strut but a sort of bar attached next to one end of the strut and comes down at an angle.
Hymer are aware of the design flaw as they've since made a strengthening kit that attaches to it.
I wasn't aware of this and hence mine broke in two.
I'm finding it very difficult to locate the part and then to get someone to fit it.
I live near Ross on Wye but would travel anywhere, providing I can get the bed up and secure , otherwise the van is undriveable.
Possibly have to a new one fabricated in steel at an engineering company.
Any advice would be most welcome.
