The Wheatsheaf Edith Weston serves IMO excellent fish and chips it’s a gentle hours stroll around the cycle track and then veer off right to the village after the boat club. The Kings Arms Wing served some excellent real ale when I visited a couple of weeks ago and the food looked promising. It’s a slightly more strenuous walk than the one to Edith Weston but you can go via the Horse and Jockey in Manton if further refreshment is required. Sadly to get to Manton you have to take the footpath alongside the main road from Lyndon Top, I don’t believe there’s any access to Manton from the nature reserve (Ospreys)at the bottom of the hill from Lyndon Top.

The Wellies Coffee shop just up the main road towards Manton used to serve an excellent breakfast when I last visited pre COVID hopefully it still does.

There’s plenty of water points around the site, away from views of the water is quieter and less exposed to northerly winds. Elsan points are fine but at either end of the site , can be a trek to them depending on where you park.

Sadly to get to Manton you have to take the footpath alongside the main road from Lyndon Top.

The footpath is also the cycle route and is quite wide and separated from the road by a grass verge. The first part of the footpath/cycleway (from the road down to LT) is on the edge of the road, unfortunately, until you get past the garden centre.
The walk to Wing can be done via the footpath through the field over the main road near the entrance of the road down to LT - this being shown on the OS maps.

Came back from Lyndon Top yesterday. It was great. weather good. But ospreys have left for Africa for the winter
now. I love Lyndon Top! Garden centre nearby does good lunches.

If you don’t need EHU, LYNDON TOP lower field for the views. You’ll need good levels as well. Phil

There was a small car park on Kilburn Road, with markings for 3 or 4 larger vehicles, which runs between the Oakham School playing fields when we were there a few years ago. It still shows on google maps.

Hi there is motorhome parking in Oakham, shared with coaches located just past Oakham school playing fields. It is a little walk into town but worth the walk.

Not used my self and no views like Lyndon top but cheaper.
