Hi Funsters,
Planning a trip to Lake Bled then onto Croatia. At first glance it's a long haul from Rottadam and wondering if anyone else has done this trip or similar in the past. I'm looking to drive maybe 4 to 5 hours max then stopping over for a couple or days before starting off again and eventually reaching lake bled after 4/5 days, is this realistic!

Any kind of information would be great, campsites, places to stop, places to vistit etc.

Thanks

On our Croatian trip we went down from Dusseldorf but I think we spent 2 weeks in Germany as it was in the 30's.

If your MH is over 3.5t then assuming you are going through Austria I think you will need to look at the options for Go Boxes etc. A search on here should throw up a few threads.

The autobahns in Germany can be very busy. Google maps will be good for looking ahead for any jams - which there will be at certain times of the day.

It's further but an option would be to head south to Luxembourg for cheap fuel then down through France and then across the top of Italy. :)

If you’re planning to stay at Cámping Bled, definitely worth booking whatever time of year. Reserve a pitch towards the front of the site as the rear can be quite muddy and cramped.

Don't bother diverting through Luxembourg if going through Germany as fuel is only a few cents cheaper than Germany.

I thought I was in Cardiff when I crossed that bridge with the dragons on.

Its only a short hop , Calais too Lake Bled 825 miles ! (no toll roads) did it 2 years ago and took 3 days to get there, stayed 3 weeks then moved to Croatia for another 3 weeks.
Took long route back via Trieste across top of Italy into France then head north to catch the ferry , took 5 days, arrived in Dover then took slow route around England ,Wales back to Scotland to Dundee and home (Dover to Dundee 623 miles)
Take your time and enjoy it all, thinking of repeating it end of August this when all the tourist head back to the UK as it quitter with less kids around !!
Just drive the distance that you feel comfortable with and take plenty of driving breaks.

I'd go through Austria and use the non-motorway route. Just be careful not to be suckered onto the motorway when leaving Salzburg. It will take a little longer but is pretty and toll-free. You can stop at one of the ski resorts if you need to, but it's do-able in a day.
