Hi,

Just running a full scan first with Malwarebyte, then S&D no roblems found then ran Advast and if found aAbA rootkit malware,

I don't normally run all these together just S&D and Advast on real time, so just wondering why they didn't all pick it up, and perhaps more importantly how it got past Advast in the first place.

What do you use, and have you ever removed a Rootkit problem

Thanks

i use AVG 9 and avast....both free versions.

its not uncommon for one to pick up on a problem and not the other one.
both running in real time and weekly full system scans

Hi, pappajohn

Thanks for your reply I have just downloaded AVG9 (free) do you run Advast and AVG together, only when downloading AVG it asked or suggested that I should remove Advast, I declined and have both of them running at the moment, albeit only for the last 5mins, are they likely to be a problem to one another

Thanks

In my opinion, there only way you can be sure of getting rid of a nasty is to reformat the disc, that's assuming you have kept a running backup of you precious data.

You will find that your computer will be a lot better off for having a good spring clean.

Good luck.
