Hi, I have an Autotrail Cheyenne which has these style of roof light / sky light blinds fly screens fitted , 4 in total, and sometimes thanks to our lovely road conditions they can open whilst driving, which isn't a problem to me but it is to my 2 little Jack Russell's who almost poo themselves when they do isn't good.
They all close okay. Am i missing something on how they should be closed? I dont see any locks on them? maybe just old and needing replaced? Apart from sticking tape to them to stop this happening any other solutions?

Why are you travelling with the blinds closed? We have always understood that it is best to keep all blinds open whilst travelling so there is no danger of them doing what yours do.

I must admit we drive with roof blinds open, but vent closed. This allows just the right amount of light coming in whilst on the move.
We do close/pull down blinds on the side windows however just for security.

I don,t drive with the blinds. closed, its the actual fly screen fitment that opens whilst driving sometimes.

Sorry misunderstood you. Is your fly screen on a sprung roller as well like mine or is it on a hinge?
Hi, The picture supplied shows the blind shut, this is just pulled back to reveal the fly net which is built in and is on hinges, this part just clips shut but not very well hence them falling down on rough roads.

The fly screens were damaged on the B544 Hymer and kept on flapping down when l went over a bump so I replaced the hinged bit that has the screen in, it just pushes into the plastic hinge in the frame, once replaced it stopped flapping down. Hope you find a replacement, there were a couple of different sizes available.

Ours will come down when driving if not properly clipped up by pressing a both ends of the side that clips up. My husband tends to just press in the centre and then it doesn’t stay.
If it’s not that simple, then you can get replacement fly screens, try O’learys
There is this one
And they have a 400mm square too.

Thanks to everyone for the replies, I will check to see if I am closing them properly, ie at both sides, if still no joy after a run then will look to replace with appropriate type, will go and measure now just in case. regards.

Before replacement I would try some self adhesive Velcro or stick some strong magnets on the vent and blind to keep them shut.

Andy.

I was thinking of trying something along these lines, as said earlier they don,t fall all the time, but don,t wont to keep scaring my 2 wee doggies if they do.
