I have had on 3 occasions water dripping onto the center of the dash, it drips from the gap between the windscreen and the metal trim that runs parallel the full width of the windscreen, looks like it pools up there as it shows most when you first set off and then brake. the front rooflight has been resealed as have the other four, its in a dealers now they have had a hose pipe on the roof a few times and it cant get it to show a leak, think it may be caused by condensation, as anybody had a leak in that area and if so what cured it.
Many Thanks in advance
Bill

What is the metal trim the you refer to ? could it be coming in over the top of the windscreen rubber ?

It shouldn't be condensation to the point of dripping unless the metal trim is bridged to outside and very cold.

It has a 10 mm gap all the way round so not touching, it runs full width and is connected to the front blind, so i cant see hoe it would bridge that gap and the screen is a glued in type i would say.

My BIL had a leaky roof on his Rapido
Apparently there is a weak point on the roof where the cab meets the body. Can’t remember if there was a joint strip or silicone that needed re applying.

There is a big joint across the roof but that looks ok to me anyway, i took all the screws out and reseal those sealed around the ariel too, thanks for the idea Robert. Bill

As Robert say, not just Rapido but all A class have a joint where the front which is usually fibreglass meets the body which is usually alluminium panels (Rapido is fibreglass) on N+B which I am more familiar with this Joint is sealed with Sikaflex and then as a secondary "belt and bracers" it is taped over as well, certainly worth looking up there.

Its been in a Rapido dealers for 2 weeks and they cant get it too leak, may just go and fetch home if no progress soon.Bill

when we did our self build we were using it without insulation on the front section above the cab. After a few weeks we could hear water sloshing, one day i had to stop quick and it poured down through the courtesy light .Its amazing how much water you get from condensation if there is a cold spot

Sorry other of your troubles , I cant help but sometimes photos do. :xThumb: I hope you manage to get to the bottom of it. There's nothing worse than not finding where the water is getting in.

I had a leak in the roof joint on my Aclass Rapido. Because of the aluminium sandwich construction it can find its way out anywhere, often remote from the leak. In my case the front lights over the dinette and the rooflight at the rear over the bed. Resealing the roof lights did nothing as that wasnt where the leak was.
Roof joint now resealed and no more leaks, even in torrential rain and flooding in Spain.

Funny I should read this, sorry not funny funny  but just been socialising on camping Javea and watching a chap with a ladder and mastic gun on the roof of an a class Rapido, seems like a serious problem they have, you would think dealers would be aware of it. ? Bob.

Have a look around the radio Ariel mounting in the middle of the roof. When we had our A class, I was told that was a problem on some. Luckily, we never had that problem.

While your on Bob is there still parking on the waste ground at the end of town, i was just wondering thats all. Bill

Perhaps it’s caused by all the hot air on the inside Bill! ?

Hi Bill, yes they are still parking there, they concreted a barrier in the entrance, so they made another entrance ? it was packed tonight when we went to the wok. ?
They moved them from the sea front after they pulled most of the no motorhome signs out. ? Bob.

I will look out for you Bill BILL 875 , ? but I can't guarantee they will be there if you leave it long, ? ? went past on my bike today and they are making nice paths to their motorhomes because its muddy with the builders 2 heaps of stone they had delivered, ? I'm sure the winter free loaders don't have a brain, ? then they moan because there is nowhere to go. ? Bob.
